Grand opening
The 8bit Museum by 8bit8yo opened on February 17th 2024. It features notable work from different artists on the Chia blockchain, with permission of the respective artists. The artwork is reimagined in a world of 32x32 blocks, often visited by characters such as the 8bit Heroes and the 8bit Animals. The launch exposition featured work by artists /Futuradora and Douglas Crets.
/Futuradora
A trilogy was made based on /Futuradora's Aphrodite. Depicting past, present and future, the pieces are visited by three 8bit Heroes.
- In 'Aphrodite' Trilogy: Past the character Classical Man enters the scene from the right, as if returning to look back at the past. Displayed is the most left part of the original.
- In 'Aphrodite' Trilogy: Present a variant of Laserjet in matching colors enters from the left, stops to view the art and exits right. The middle part of the original is displayed.
- Finally, in 'Aphrodite' Trilogy: Future the newly introduced character Time Traveller appears and disappears by the most right part of the original.

Somewhat appropriately, the first mint was based on Protozoa Room by Douglas Crets.
From the original description:
"Imagine a space where one sits quietly and observes the beginning of life. Ironically, one must construct a place like this before life can exist.(...)"
In this animation Classical Man is inside the room. He waits for the beginning of life, but he hesitantly leaves the scene (perhaps nature calls?) and then walks back inside to return to his original position.

All pieces in the 8bit Museum are 1/1. Initial ownership and recurring royalties are split evenly between 8bit Museum and the artist.
Occasionally pieces will be put on sale, or on auction on Mintgarden.io.
