Based on one of the artist's favorites, Quirky Giraffes 2.0 #22 shows "Chef Raf" receiving a wink from a freshly introduced 8bit giraffe.
Ceci n'est pas une girafe
With Quirky Pixel Giraffes #131 we made another wink, to the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte.
In his 1929 work La Trahison des Images (English: The Treachery of Images) he shows a pipe with the text "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." ("This is not a pipe.")
The Treachery of Images... What would it mean in the age of NFT? In surreality things get confusing quickly. Is there a pipe, or is there an image of a pipe? Yes, you can find a pipe in the original NFT. But is there a giraffe with a pipe in the 8bit Museum, when none of the 8bit characters stop by to look at it? It's all a bit of a haze.
