8bit8yo

The Creation

The "8bit God" has been minted into the 8bit Museum. It is piece #32 and the last in "Series 1".

Some fun facts about the original:

The Visit

8bit God in Action

In the 8bit Museum animation, Laserjet visits the work and watches the original animation. The 8bit God then appears in the Museum in the place of the visitor. The visitor now appears inside the frame, after which both fade away. Eventually the visitor walks back into the Museum. Now you can ask yourself many questions about this. Who is watching who? Who lives, who is a portrait? Is there a portrait, or is there a mirror? Could 8bit God and the visitor exist without each other?

Divine intervention

However philosophic, the reason we featured an 8bit8yo piece is purely mathematical. Biblical references by pure chance: the first two 8bit Museum pieces were based on the creations of a man. One piece even being of a Saintly nature. Immediately followed by a woman. Obviously, this is when things got out of hand. She decided on a Trilogy. From that moment on, the number of museum pieces was uneven. But wasn't the idea of the museum having an equal divide between artist and museum? It called for divine intervention. Only by exception an 8bit8yo piece was featured, and order was restored into an even 32 pieces. For now.
